The ministerial decision (Government Gazette 2604/B/22.12.2008) setting out the periodic inspection procedure for lifts in operation.

Ministerial Decision F.A/9.2/OIK. 28425/1245/2008 (Government Gazette 2604/B/22.12.2008) concerns lifts installed in any type of building and currently in operation.

Periodic inspection is a mandatory procedure carried out at regular intervals, to confirm the safe operation of the lift and issue a Certificate of Fitness.

Key points:

  • The inspection must be carried out in the presence of the lift’s maintainer.
  • Once the certificate is issued, the owner must register the lift with the relevant municipality.
