M.D. 15085/593/2003 — Lifting Equipment Inspection Regulation
The core legal framework (Government Gazette 1186/B/2003) for the inspection and certification of machinery that lifts and moves loads and/or persons.
Ministerial Decision 15085/593/2003 (Government Gazette 1186/B/2003) establishes the Lifting Equipment Inspection Regulation.
Its scope covers all machinery intended for lifting and moving loads and/or persons in space, such as:
- Cranes of all types (mobile, fixed, mast-mounted, vehicle-mounted, tower cranes)
- Overhead cranes, monorail systems, hoists
- Forklifts and pallet trucks
- Aerial work platforms and suspended platforms
- Construction-site and furniture hoists
- Vehicle lifts for garages and MOT centres
- Accessibility lifts, home lifts (speed < 0.15 m/s), lifting tables
